Compressor Maintenance and Refrigeration Oil Replacement Procedures
1.Basic Requirements for Compressor Operation
Start-stop control: The compressor should be started no more than 6 times per hour, with a minimum single run time of at least 3 minutes, to avoid damage from frequent starts and stops.
Component inspection: Regularly check the compressor protection devices and all control components to make sure the protection functions are working properly.
Wiring check: Inspect the unit's electrical wiring to ensure all connections are tight and secure, preventing faults caused by poor contact.
2.Frozen oil change interval
Initial maintenance for a new machine: After the compressor has run continuously for the first 2,000 hours, you need to change the refrigerant oil and clean the oil filter. Oil quality check: Every 10,000 hours of continuous operation, take an oil sample to check its condition. Regular oil change: If the system is running well and the pipelines are clean without impurities, change the refrigerant oil every 20,000 hours or every 4 years, whichever comes first. Important tip: Before changing the lubricating oil, make sure to confirm the compatible oil type with the equipment manufacturer. Using the wrong type can cause irreversible damage to the compressor.
3.Steps for changing frozen oil
Shut down and cut power: Stop the equipment, turn off the main power, and let the unit cool down and release pressure.
Close the valves: Close the compressor high-pressure valve, low-pressure valve, and oil return pipe valve one by one.
Evacuate the refrigerant: Make sure all valves are tightly closed, and evacuate and recover the refrigerant inside the compressor.
Drain old oil: After the refrigerant is evacuated, open the oil valve and drain all the old refrigeration oil from the compressor.
Add new oil: Vacuum the compressor, draw in new refrigeration oil at the oil valve, keeping the oil level in the sight glass between 1/3 and 2/3.
Secondary vacuum: After adding oil, close the oil valve and vacuum the compressor for about 15 minutes.
Open the valves: After vacuuming, open the valves in order: high-pressure valve → low-pressure valve → oil pipe valve.
Preheat and start: Connect the power and preheat the refrigeration oil for a few hours. The unit can be started only after preheating is completed.
4.Environmental Protection and Usage Notes
Refrigerants must not be discharged casually and need to be properly recovered and handled; the used refrigerant oil generated during replacement contains chlorinated components, which can pollute the environment and must be disposed of according to hazardous waste regulations; you must use special refrigerant oil that matches the compressor model and refrigerant, and mixing is not allowed.
